Take a tour of this cozy and functional tiny house by Build Tiny – The La Sombra.
It was completed in 2019 by the team in New Zealand.
There are some great design features inside and out, enabling the owners to take the house off-grid too, like the iBot tiny house also by Build Tiny.
We’re here to give you a full tour of the La Sombra tiny house, let’s go.
Exterior
The La Sombra tiny house measures 8m by 2.4m and has lightweight vinyl cladding on the outside.
You’re just able to see the solar pv array on the roof of the house, which provides energy when off-grid.
However, it also has a 16 amp mains power connection for when you are connected to a power supply.
The exterior of the La Sombra also has some nify storage solutions for an inverter and batteries.

Living Space
When you step inside the La Sombra tiny house, you’re greeted by the warm poplar plywood interior.
To your right, there’s an open plan living area with a couch, shelving, a television and some pot plant decorations.
A space saving vertical ladder, which provides access to one of the lofts, separates the living area from the small dining table and chairs.
