This tiny house from Indigo River tiny homes shares some similarities with their other models, such as the Wilhite home.
Large windows, plenty of natural light as well as kitchen and bathroom furnishings are some of the shared characteristics.
However the layout of the Abigail tiny house is different. It has what Indigo River tiny homes have called their Rambler floorplan.
The living area, kitchen and bathroom are all on the first (ground) floor and the stairway leads to an upstairs bedroom.
We’ll give you a full tour of the tiny house showing all of these different rooms.
Exterior
The exterior of the Abigail looks great. It has smartside siding with a cedar accent.
For convenience it has standard RV hookups, if you’re planning to go somewhat on-grid.
You’ll notice straight away the large windows that disperse lots of natural light through the home.
It has a sliding patio door on one end, with blinds inside the glass.
On the other side (out of view from the pictures) are two storage sheds with the generator.
These can be used to store larger items such as bikes for example.
Kitchen
The kitchen in this tiny house is a great size. It has enough room for all the appliances you need to live well.
It has apartment-size appliances such as:
- Fridge-freezer
- Microwave
- Oven
- Cooktop
- Farmhouse sink (24″)
It has an exhaust fan to the outside too.
On the right-hand side of the kitchen are solid oak butcher block counters with custom cabinetry underneath.
There are even toe-kick drawers to maximise every inch of space in the kitchen.
Above, you’ll see the A/C system which is a mini-split and heat pump.
Behind the kitchen is the storage staircase that leads up to the bedroom.
Underneath the first step is a gap for shoe storage.
Bathroom
As you walk through the kitchen, underneath the bedroom is the bathroom.
It’s a great size and accommodates a laundry area with an all-in-one washer and dryer. There’s more space in the laundry cove for hampers and extra storage.
The bathroom has room for a full size bath tub, a flush toilet and vanity too.
The vanity has a cabinet above with a mirror and there’s even storage drawers beneath the vanity too.
Living and dining area
The living area is bright and simple.
There’s room for a sofa and a wall-mounted television by the patio doors.
Also there is a folding table that can be used as a breakfast bar.
On the ceiling is a fan too.
Bedroom
The last room in the Abigail tiny house is the bedroom.
You can stand up here as long as you’re under 6’4″.
The bed can be accessed from either side thanks to a walkway at the end of the bed. There’s storage underneath the bed and a shelf at the head for things like lamps and your phone.
It accommodates a queen-size bed.
Furthermore, there’s tons of storage in the bedroom. It has two full-size wardrobes and drawers underneath. There’s also a window seat with lighting and storage here by the window.
