The Cornelia is an amazing tiny house by New Frontier Design.
It makes a fantastic writer’s retreat due to it’s minimalistic design, the peacefulness of the surroundings and the fact that it has all the amenities you need to live there comfortably.
We’ll show you all the different parts of the Cornelia in this guided tour.
Exterior
This model of the Cornelia tiny house measures up at 24′ long by 8’6″ wide by 13’6″ high. A 24′ custom trailer can be used to transport the property.
It also comes in a few different sizing options. For an upgrade fee, it can come in 28′ long by 10′ wide or 36′ long by 10′ wide with a ground floor bedroom.
Weathered corrugated aluminum and charred cedar form the exterior, helping it to blend in to autumn and winter landscapes.
Inside, spray foam insulation and tempered, insulated glass is used to keep the tiny house warm during these cold months.
You can see a practical but not overbearing awning above the entrance to the Cornelia too.
Entrance
When you step in to the tiny house, you’re greeted by a warm and bright interior.
The wooden walls and solid hardwood floor gives a rustic and secure feel.
However, the Cornelia also seems modern, with a glass door and large windows that allow you to take in your surroundings perfectly.
Living Area
The living space is immediately in front of you as you enter.
A large sofa is present on one side of the room and it even has some extra seating if that wasn’t enough.
Of course, one of the main features of the tiny house is the solid maple drop-down desk, underneath the sliding window.
It makes the Cornelia a perfect writer’s retreat, with all the amenities you need to be able to stay and work on your project comfortably.
There’s a retractable lamp to help save space on the desk, as well as floating shelves and recessed led and strip lighting around the whole living area.
A mini-split HVAC regulates the air in the space too.
Kitchen
The kitchen is a small space at the far end of the Cornelia tiny house, but still offers lots of fixtures and fittings you’d find in a regular home.
There’s an 18″ stainless steel sink on a butcher block countertop.
For cooking, either a two burner electric stovetop or countertop convection oven can be used here.
Again, a retractable wall lamp saves space on the kitchen countertop.
Bathroom
The bathroom is also at the same end of the tiny house. A sliding pocket door opens up the bathroom to reveal a 36″ by 36″ shower stall and wall mounted vanity.
There’s also a full length mirror, which is super useful when getting ready for the day.
Hot water is provided by a tankless hot water heater too.
Loft
The Cornelia tiny house has a special loft area. You have an amazing view down over the living area and also outside.
There’s a concealed utility closet underneath the loft which you can see below.
Access to the loft is via an oak library ladder – a very nice space-saving touch.
Again, the loft has recessed led lighting and a retractable wall-mounted lamp.
The space is large enough for a king-size mattress.
